The Canine Classic rally event will be a fun-run on a novice course. No experience is necessary and all dogs and their handlers may participate!

The event is hosted by the Bark Valley Dog Club.

Registration begins at 8:00 am for obedience, rally and agility events.  Entry fee for obedience, rally or agility is $5 per event or $10 for two or more events.  A portion of this donation will be given to the Ark Valley Humane Society.

Rally is a fairly new dog sport that allows the handler and dog to move at their own pace through an obstacle course with 10-20 stations depending on the level. At each station, a sign tells the handler what exercise the dog must perform ( i.e. sit, down, walk around cones, down and stay before continuing course, run etc). In Novice Rally, the dog is kept on a leash and unlimited verbal encouragement by the handler is allowed. Rally was developed as a bridge between the Canine Good Citizen's Test and obedience. For more information on Rally, see www.akc.org and click on Events, then Rally.
